Project overview
Design & Analysis (D&A) provided independent structural engineering consultancy services for the New Women and Babies Hospital Project (NWBHP), supporting critical infrastructure upgrades at Fiona Stanley Hospital (FSH) and Osborne Park Hospital (OPH).
Our scope included comprehensive reviews of piling designs, undercroft structures, multi-storey hospital buildings and a pedestrian bridge, all of which formed key components of this fast-tracked healthcare infrastructure project. Reviews were undertaken at key project milestones and documented through the Certifi-Informma system, ensuring transparency and timely delivery within 10 working days.
D&A's structural assessments were carried out in accordance with Australian Standards, the National Construction Code (NCC) and WA Health Facility Guidelines, providing assurance of regulatory compliance and structural integrity. While design responsibility remained with the primary contractor, D&A's independent reviews of primary structural elements supported the project approval process and ongoing construction activities.
This project demonstrates D&A's experience in the delivery and independent review of major healthcare infrastructure projects across Western Australia.
